York, 04/27/2010 - A company that bills itself as the nations largest producer of hand-painted advertising is moving to a new warehouse in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, that better suits its needs.
Colossal Media Group has signed a seven year lease for 7,500 square feet at 85 Wythe Avenue. The company will occupy the entire story warehouse building owned by Wythe LLC. The asking rent was $14 per sq.ft.
The company, which hand paints photo-realistic ads and murals for galleries, museums, and ad agencies, currently occupies a warehouse in the neighborhood at 48 North 3rd Sstreet that is roughly the same size. Colossal found the new space to be a better fit.
"The layout was better for them in this one, "said Jacques Wadler, the Kalmon Dolgin Affiliates broker who, with his colleague Vincent Lopez, represented the owner and the tenant. "They need indivisual rooms for their use, and the warehouse they were in was a rectangular box. That didnt work for them."
Mr. Wadler added that the tenant was also attracted to the buildings high ceilings and proximity to the Williamsburg Bridige and Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. In addition, the property is within walking distance to the Bedford Avenue stop on the L subway and is also close to both McCarren Park and East River State Park.
The firm also has locations in Boston, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin.
Colossal Media also has its headquarters in the neighborhood at 176 NOrth 9th Street, where it will remain
