KALMON DOLGIN & NEIL A. DOLGIN As a fourth-generation family business, Kalmon Dolgin Affiliates boasts a company culture that values honesty, respect, hard work and fair-ness. As a teenager, Kalmon Dolgin helped his dad, brothers and other agents before officially joining the firm, which was founded in 1904, in 1968. He was then joined by his brother Neil in the mid-1970s. Over many decades, co-presidents Kalmon and Neil have expanded KDA’s geographic reach across more than a dozen states. Today, Neil handles the brokerage portion of the business and the management of buildings in Queens and Western Nassau. He works with his son Grant, who is co-VP, on the brokerage business. Kalmon oversees the out-of-state properties in Pennsylvania and throughout Suffolk County, and he also works with his son Josh, who manages buildings as co-VP. Neil and Kalmon meet with brokers individually to mentor and guide them, and they remain involved in reviewing every brokerage deal. The two professionals treat their staff as part of their family and many KDA brokers have been with the company for decades. Long-time employees of KDA say that the brothers complement each other as hands-on leaders and they bring a unique expertise and depth of knowledge to the firm. “I have observed Kal and Neil evolve and adjust with the times since joining the company in 1999,” says one team member. “They have taken a company that was stalwart in the industry and evolved it to a leader in the commercial and industrial brokerage business in Brooklyn and Queens. Neil and Kal each have unique skill sets. Each plays off the other in ways that complement the other and always play to their strengths.”
