Since 1968, Kalmon Dolgin has played an integral role in the growth, expansion and scope of Kalmon Dolgin Affiliates (KDA) and its property management company, KND Management Co., Inc. The namesake, family-owned commercial brokerage and real estate firm was founded in 1904 by Kal’s paternal grandfather, an immigrant from Russia who opened a real estate brokerage business in the back of his small Brooklyn grocery store.
After earning his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and a Juris Doctor degree at Syracuse University College of Law, Kal left his law career after his uncle Morris fell ill and, at dad’s request, he joined the family business in 1968. In the mid-1970s, Kal was joined by his brother Neil, whose area of expertise in refurbishing old buildings complimented Kal’s while adding its own individuality and strengths. Over many decades, Kal, Neil and the team have expanded KDA’s geographic reach across Long Island, Philadelphia, Albany, NY, Florida and across more than a dozen states.
Working alongside his brother Neil for 50 years, his son Josh for the past 30 years, his nephew Grant for the last 15 years, and a team of talented brokers and staff, this family real estate firm has accomplished something rare -- they have grown, thrived, contributed to the community, and remained together for four generations and counting, with future generations still to come.
